Button up/down

Yesterday was obviously mother's day, and as I was getting ready to head to church I asked Andi to pick out a nice shirt for me to wear not only to church but to a brunch on the Queen Mary we were heading to right after the services to celebrate moms in our family.

Andi mentioned that it should be a button down shirt, to which I curiously responded, button down shirt whats that?

Apparently my wife buttons her shirts starting from the top and working her way down. I on the other hand start at the bottom of the shirt and work my way up trying to avoid that last top button that seems to choke me every time I have to use it.

So we had a friendly discussion on who buttons their shirts which way... Is it a bottom up (where you start at the bottom and work your way up) or a button down, which is quite ridiculous if you ask me :).
