Good ol' Sac town

Last night Andi and I took a 9 PM flight out to Sacramento to go to a place called Rock-N-Water, where we will be going for our High School Summer Retreat this year. I have never been there so we wanted to make sure we are getting ourselves into an weird or compromising situations.

On the flight we sat next to this cool lady named Julie. She use to be an attorney but it now working for what she calls "the power plants for the capital." However, I asked her what crazy cases she has been in, and she replied with this story.

The railroads own a certain distance of land that the tracks are on, and so anyone walking along the tracks is on private property therefore it is illegal. She continued with a man was walking along the tracks at some distance away but within the illegal limit. A train came by hit a cow that was trying to cross the tracks, the cow was sent flying in the air and it landed on the drunk man and killed him. The family of the man then took the train company to court and one a ton of money even though he was doing something illegal.

How crazy is that though? Not to many people can say they were hit by a flying cow!

I also found out the she was a Christan and she was struggling through what she called "waiting well." She has been waiting for the right man to come into her life, but she has determined that she is going to be obedient to God, and not get bitter or angry because she doesn't have a spouse. So Andi and I got to encourage her and talk through some of that with her. In the midst of our conversation the plane shook 2 quick times and it startled us because we didn't realize the plane was landing.

Today, we get to go and check out the facilities at Rock-N-Water and they are going to take us white water rafting. I have never been but have always wanted to do it. I hear they are also going to give us wetsuits and booties because of how cold the water is! Its times like these I wish I wasn't bald.
