There was evening and there was morning.

Genesis 1:3-13 is the first focus this morning. In this portion of the creation story you find the first 3 days are days of separating.

Day 1 God separates the light from darkness
Day 2 God separates the waters from above and the waters from below to make sky and sea.
Day 3 God separates the land from the water to make land and the land began to produce vegetation.

Genesis 1:14-31 is the second focus this morning. In this portion of the creation story you find the 3 days of creation.

Day 4 God filled the light with the sun and the darkness with the moon and the stars.
Day 5 God filled the sea with fish and the sky with birds.
Day 6 God filled the land with animals and man.

What's interesting for me is the connections between day 1 and 4, day 2 and 5, and day 3 and 6. If you put them together you get this:
1) God separates the light from darkness and fills the light with the sun and the darkness with the moon and stars.

2) God separates the waters to form the sea and the sky and fills the sea with fish and the sky with birds.

3) God separates the sea to form dry land and the land began to produce vegetation and He fills the land with animals and man.

Thats a good question Chad, I will have to look into that one a bit more. I have a thought but I would rather look it up before I start rambaling on.

Sarah, I am sorry you have a busy week, can I pray for you about anything?
