Mechanical Translation of Genesis 1:1-5

I came across this mechanical translation of Genesis 1:1-5 this morning, so I thought I would share it with you because of the last blog series we went through. 

In the summit "Elohiym [Powers]" fattened the sky and the land, and the land had existed in confusion and was unfilled and darkness was upon the face of the deep sea and the wind of "Elohiym [Powers]" was much fluttering upon the face of the water, and "Elohiym [Powers]" said, light exist and light existed, and "Elohiym [Powers]" saw the light given that it was functional and "Elohiym [Powers]" made a separation between the light and the darkness, and "Elohiym [Powers]" called out to the light day and to the darkness he called out night and evening existed and morning existed one (echad- in unity) day.

This brought some interesting thoughts to my head, but the one thing that stuck out to me that I had never heard before were the words "in the summit," instead of in the beginning.

I did a little searching, and here is what I came up with. The Hebrew word for "in the beginning" is the word reshiyt, which is derived from the word rosh. Rosh can mean top, head, or beginning of time and space. Most Hebrew scholars are in agreement that Summit or Height is the more accurate translation of reshiyt because it best describes the original Hebrew meaning. 

Let me give you an example of where reshiyt is also found in the scriptures that might help.

Psalm 111:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..."

The word beginning is the word reshiyt. The psalm isnt saying that fearing God is the start of wisdom, the psalm is saying that fearing God is the summit, or height of wisdom.
